Salih Al ash-Sheikh
Abdul-Aziz Al ash-Sheikh (Arabic: صال عبد العزيز آل الشيخ) – Saudi Salafi theologian; Minister for Islamic Affairs, Waqaf, Call and Instruction of Saudi Arabia in 1998-2014, from January 29, 2015 to the present day. Salih Al al-Sheikh is a descendant of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab and comes from the Al .Salih Al ash-Sheikh was born in 1959 (1378 AH) in the city of Riyadh. His father, Abdul-Aziz ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh, was the eldest son of the first Supreme Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim. After receiving his primary education, Salih Al al-Sheikh entered the engineering faculty of the King Saud University in Riyadh, then transferred to the faculty of foundations of religion (usul ad-din) Islamic University of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud.In 1996, Salih al-Sheikh was appointed by royal decree as Deputy Minister for Islamic Affairs, Waqfs, Call and Instruction of Saudi Arabia, and in 1998 – as Minister for Islamic Affairs. In addition to the ministerial post, Salih is the head and member of several other religious organizations: a member of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, head of the charitable Institution for the Call to Islam and the King Fahd complex for publishing the Koran, chairman of the Supreme Council for Waqfs, etc.
